Sick of Your iBrick?

I was sitting on the train literally moments ago when I overheard someone talking about their friend who spent four hours in the iPhone line this weekend and ANOTHER four hours waiting for them to get his new 3g iPhone up and running. Wow, there are some patient people out there!

I thought, since I’m getting tired of iPhone news and apparently there are many many people out there with 3g iDoorstops, I’d post this link to Chris Perillo’s demo of the open source Abdroid platform for mobile phones. As Perillo says, I’m not convinced that Android will take on the iPhone head to head, but it looks like it will (someday soon?) be a good open source alternative to Apple’s proprietary mobile platform.
