Matt’s Cuppa Quick Review: Apture
telecommatt | May 27, 2008
I wish that I could remember who turned me on to Apture, because it’s a really sweet little service! And it goes quite well with the English Breakfast Blend tea I happen to be drinking. Here’s how it works:
You set up an account at Apture.com. You add a bit of code to your site and add your site to your Apture profile. Then you write a blog post. Instead of creating the hyperlinks as you type your post, you create them afterwards using the Apture Dashboard.
Not only does Apture let you create a link on any word in your post, but it will help you find associated content as well. For example, if I wrote a post about frogs, Apture can link to the wikipedia page on frogs, help me find frog videos from YouTube, and current news about frog species in decline, all in the space of about five minutes. When a visitor reads my post, they can view the Wikipedia article and watch the YouTube videos without leaving my website. And did I mention that Apture is free?
