Brian Clark - Copyblogger
telecommatt | May 3, 2008On online business models that work. It’s good business sense to talk to people. People confuse a biz model with a revenue model. Blogging is not a biz model. Content is marketing. Brian is talking about 3 A’s: attention, authority, & acceleration. I think most successful bloggers follow these, even w/o realizing.
Thoughts on “social proof”. I’ve referred to this as the snowman effect. The more people see that other people are subscribing, digging, etc., the more people will subscribe, digg, etc. Like rolling snow for a snowman. The bigger the snowball, the more snow it picks up. I’ve joked about web credibility before. If you simply write enough about anything people will assume you’re an expert. So, social proof is developing trust. Trust is what turns into profit. Knowing the snowman effect, done correctly profit turns more profit. Which is very appealing.
