I’m Either a Sell-Out or an Utterz-vangelist

If I wasn’t before, I’m certainly and Utterz.com fanboy now! I’ve been using Utterz to create mobile blog posts for some time now. Those posts are the ones tagged ‘Utterz’. Utterz has some real cool stuff going on. You can mash-up your voice with a number of other social applications, use it to leave voice reminders to yourself, or create full multimedia blog posts from anywhere using your camera-enabled mobile phone. Not to mention the lively social community where you can hear people respond in their own voice.
In addition to being impressed by the shiny new features that they keep rolling out, I am also pleasantly surprised at the way they respond to their users. On more than one occasion I’ve sent emails to their support address and I’ve received a timely response from an actual human each time. Well, except once.
I had sent a question in some time ago about a possible bug. Soon after that, the issue no longer occurred. And I forgot about the message I’d sent. (Not surprisingly, since I was no longer experiencing the same issue). I figured they’d done an update which took care of things.
Weeks later I received an email response prefaced by an apology for not responding sooner. I was even offered a free Utterz t-shirt! Not that I was all that miffed about not getting a timely response, but in the end, I provided my address because I just couldn’t pass up a t-shirt with large friendly looking cow in the front!
That was over a week ago, and I’d forgotten about the whole sequence of events (again!). Until I had to pry a big cardboard mailer out of my mailbox last night. Not only did it contain a high quality Utterz shirt featuring Bessie, the Utterz mascot, but also a plush stuffed Bessie, a Bessie keychain, and a number of small notepads on which Bessie makes an appearance.
Having worked on the realm of customer satisfaction in previous lives, I really appreciate the amount of work and the amount of cashflow that went into my care package. I can also tell you that it worked to it’s intended effect. I will now go out into the world and tell anyone who will listen how great Utterz is both as a product and as a company.
