RSS is something that most people hear or see on a daily basis. Everyone should know what RSS is and how it can help you

Sure, there are lots of places on the net now that explain (in more words or less) what RSS is, but how many screencasts have you seen?

RSS isn’t just for news sites and blogs either. It’s a great way for groups and families to keep everyone informed about what’s happening. Instead of sending an email to everyone and their (or your) brother, you could post it for everyone to see in real time.

This is a great reference to have on hand when those sorts of discussions come up. I seem to find myself in the position of RSS evangelist every now and then, so I can’t wait to pull this up next time I have to explain what that little orange button does.

The Significance of the MyBlogLog API - ReadWriteWeb

If you could capture and use the names, ages, genders and demonstrated interests of the specific people who visited your website - would you?

This seemed to go a by under the radar yesterday. At least, I didn’t see anything about it until today when I read this teaser from the Disqus blog. The whole concept of Attention Data is really, really interesting. It’s amazing how much money is spent on knowing where your spend your time (and how much time you spend there) and knowing how to influence those decisions.

I think that Kirkpatrick is spot on when he says that MyBlogLog has an appeal that OpenID doesn’t. Sure, OpenID’s got utility– one sign in for lots of sites, but MyBlogLog is a lot sexier. It’s got more visual appeal, which is where the adoption come from I think.

So what is Disqus going to do with the MyBlogLog API? Your guess is as good as mine, but with the reach that MyBlogLog has, well, where is the limit?

RIAA website gets hacked by SQL injection - Download Squad

If only they spent more time working to save themselves from cross-site scripting attacks and SQL injection instead of going after college students for downloading “My Humps.”

I love it! Someone ran a delete query on the RIAA website! I’m of the opinion that immaturity begets immaturity and that is certainly the case here. As soon as the RIAA stooped to lawsuit slinging, it opened the door to similar responses.
